Inheritance tax where due has to be paid before the application for the Grant and therefore access to the deceased’s assets. The payment is the personal responsibility of the Executors. Normally the banks will allow the cash funds held by the deceased to be paid directly to HMRC which may cover this liability in part or full. Sometimes there are insufficient funds held by the banks which leaves the Executors to use their personal cash or borrow from the beneficiaries or banks. With the burden of inheritance tax increasing and more of individual’s wealth being tied up in property it is becoming problematic to fully fund this. We offer a service where we can facilitate the payment of the inheritance tax as part of our full probate administration service. Please contact us direct for further details.
